Gamma Knife
This new equipment is the first in the state for providing non-invasive treatment of brain tumors and cranial disorders. The remodeled space to house this specialized treatment required major renovation, including the removal of three-foot thick concrete walls, while maintaining hospital services. The three-month construction schedule, dictated by the equipment arrival, was achieved through a well-coordinated and managed work process. 

Radiation Oncology 
The remodeling of this existing 7,500 SF unit, occurred in two months, in order to accommodate a new 21EX linear accelerator. Work included new finishes, casework, lighting, power and data in treatment and exam rooms, reception/waiting areas and six new offices. 

Dialysis Remodeling
In order to accommodate the remodeling of the eighth floor, for the Kindred Health Care facility, the Dialysis Unit had to be relocated to the fifth floor. This Hawkins Group project included remodeling a 2,500 SF space, into five dialysis stations, a new nurses’ station and storage areas. The work cost $130,000 and was completed in sixty days. 

Kindred Health Care
This independent hospital leasing 12,000 SF of space, within Lovelace, required that existing patient rooms be converted to a higher level of long-term acute care (LTAC). The three-month remodeling consisted primarily of improving accessibility to patient rooms, showers, and toilets, and converting private rooms to semi-private. New work included ceilings and finishes, a nurse’s station, emergency power, medical gases, and casework. 

Mental Health Clinic 
The entire 23,000 SF 3rd floor inpatient facilities were converted to mental health for geriatrics and adult psych patients. Remodeled space included dining, therapy rooms, exam rooms, accessible showers, break-resistant windows, secure lock down, and special egress hardware. New finishes, ceilings, lighting, plumbing, sprinklers, and medical gas with tamper-proof fixtures and devices were installed.
